Harley Cameron has said she declined opportunities in the entertainment industry to prioritize her professional wrestling career.

In an interview published Tuesday with TV Insider, the AEW performer revealed that she has been approached by companies involved with talent competitions similar to America’s Got Talent. Cameron noted that while she has a background in singing and performance, she is currently “living her dream job” in wrestling.

“I will say my focus and heart is on wrestling,” Cameron said. “I definitely had companies in that field or area proactively reach out to me. I just think it would have to be the right time, right situation because I’m currently living my dream job.”

She emphasized that, unlike some who might view the industry as a gateway to other media, her goals are firmly set within the ring.

A hundred percent. A lot of people do have in their mind that perhaps wrestling could be a gateway to something else for them. For me, it’s reversed because I’ve had a very fruitful career in entertainment. I’ve seen that side of things. It’s not that I don’t proactively do it, but wrestling is not a stepping stone for me. Wrestling is the focus and the passion.

Cameron credited her recent program with Mercedes Moné as a pivotal moment for her development. She stated that working with the TBS Champion provided her with significant screen time and pushed her to improve her in-ring work.

When at home in Florida, she said she trains at the Flatbacks Wrestling School run by Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears. On the road, she works regularly with Nigel McGuinness and Orange Cassidy before shows.

Cameron is currently competing in the tournament to crown the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions. Alongside her partner Willow Nightingale, collectively known as the “Babes of Wrath”, she is set to face Julia Hart and Skye Blue on the Thanksgiving Eve edition of Dynamite.
