Ren Narita and SANADA have taken the sole lead of the B Block following Sunday’s World Tag League card in Akita.
The tournament passed its midway point at the Akita Terrsa, where the House of Torture duo broke a deadlock in the standings. Narita and SANADA defeated David Finlay and Hiromu Takahashi to advance to six points, separating themselves from the rest of the field.
The match was heavily influenced by interference from the wider House of Torture stable. David Finlay was handcuffed to the guardrail while Daiki Nagai hid the key, leaving Takahashi in a two-on-one situation. Narita eventually secured the pinfall on Takahashi following the Guillotine of Hell.
In the main event, Hiroshi Tanahashi and El Phantasmo earned their first points of the tournament by defeating Zack Sabre Jr. and Ryohei Oiwa. The 22-minute encounter concluded when Tanahashi pinned Oiwa with the High Fly Flow, a result that keeps the team mathematically alive in the league.
Shota Umino and Yuya Uemura joined the logjam at four points by defeating Lance Archer and Alex Zayne. Umino forced the submission from Zayne using a Kannuki Suplex Hold.
Earlier in the night, Yuto-Ice and OSKAR secured their second consecutive victory by defeating Great-O-Khan and Callum Newman. OSKAR pinned the United Empire leader following the KOB to move the team to four points.
The tournament continues on Tuesday with A Block action from Yamanashi.
