The Miz said his name, so he’ll appear on next week’s episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown.

Joe Hendry will wrestle on WWE’s Friday night program for the first time ever next week, going one-on-one with The Miz.

Miz called for the match against the former TNA World Champion this week, wanting revenge after getting embarrassed by him at John Cena’s retirement show earlier this month. It’ll be a rare main roster appearance for Hendry, who has mainly worked NXT shows in recent months.

Drew McIntyre’s suspension from Friday Night Smackdown has come to an end, and he’ll celebrate his return by appearing on next week’s episode.

McIntyre was recently guaranteed a future title shot against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as part of his return package, with the stipulation that Rhodes cannot lay a finger on him during the lead-up to the title match. We’ll hear what he has to say about that future title shot next week.

It was also confirmed that Ilja Dragunov’s U.S. Open Challenge will continue next week with a new mystery opponent. Dragunov’s reign thus far has included wins over Carmelo Hayes, Aleister Black, Sami Zayn, and Tommaso Ciampa. Who will he face next?

Here’s everything announced for next week’s show:

  • Joe Hendry vs. The Miz
  • Ilja Dragunov U.S. Open Challenge
  • Drew McIntyre returns
