CHIAKI left Korakuen Hall with less hair than she had when she arrived on Monday night.
After losing a classic title-versus-hair match to MARIGOLD World Champion Miku Aono in a 17-minute battle, CHIAKI had a pair of scissors taken to her head by the champ on Monday, albeit only for a brief moment. Their dramatic title bout closed out the promotion’s latest event from Tokyo today.
It was originally planned that CHIAKI and Aono would meet in a non-title match as part of Monday’s show. However, after a press conference earlier this week saw CHIAKI forcibly cut some of Aono’s hair (with the help of her Darkness Revolution teammates, who held Aono in place), their meeting was given a special title versus hair stipulation.
A razor was set up at ringside, and Aono was given the opportunity to go as far as to make CHIAKI bald following her high-stakes win today. But the champ showed remorse after the match, cutting just a single handful of hair before declaring that she had done enough. A defiant CHIAKI, wanting to make a statement of her own, took a razor to her head immediately after, buzzing a line of her skull bald before storming out of the venue.
CHIAKI had an aggressive style to start their title bout, hurling Aono onto seats at ringside before scoring a hard powerslam to the floor. Her Darkness Revolution teammates helped her with cheap tactics, whether it was sliding her a chair, exposing a set of turnbuckles, or outright attacking Aono at ringside.
The bout became a much cleaner battle bout in the second half, when Aono’s style took over. In a jaw-dropping sequence, the champ followed up a Tiger Driver with another nasty piledriver, trapping an arm of CHIAKI behind her back for the Red Sensation.
The title-versus-hair stipulation added some extra drama to a match with a predictable result. While CHIAKI is part of a successful tag duo alongside Misa Matsui, currently holding the Twin Star Championships, she’s not a major player in the promotion’s singles division.
Monday marked just the second time Aono has defended her title since ending Utami Hayashishita’s lengthy reign back in October. Her prior appearance was a 26-minute victory over Mai Sakurai last month.
Victoria Yuzuki keeps United National reign alive against Chika Goto
Victoria Yuzuki retained her MARIGOLD United National Championship in the co-main event, overcoming the powerhouse that is Chika Goto after a competitive 17-minute fight.
While Goto entered as a significant underdog, having never defeated Yuzuki in singles action and not holding any previous title in her wrestling career, her back-and-forth battles with Yuzuki throughout the matchup made it convincing that she had a chance at earning the title. The performance by both women added significant value to a match which had a foregone conclusion result.
Goto got the jump on Yuzuki immediately, sending her out of the ring with a chokeslam them swinging her around the Korakuen Hall floor, causing a near count-out. Goto remained in the match with big moves, at one point countering a top-rope attempt from Yuzuki into a superplex. A couple of minutes later, Goto picked up a near fall after winning a hard-hitting forearm exchange then scoring a modified sideslam.
After reversing a chokeslam attempt into a Frankensteiner, Yuzuki hit a cross-arm suplex then a Victory Sunset to score the pinfall victory. Yuzuki has now turned back four challengers since initially claiming her United National title from Mai Sakurai in October.
Inaugural trios champs crowned in Korakuen Hall
MARIGOLD’s first-ever trios champs were crowned earlier in the night when Mai Sakurai, Natsumi Showzuki and Erina Yamanaka took down the Darkness Revolution team of Rea Seto, Nagisa Nozaki and Misa Matsui.
After a hectic start to the match, which saw the babyface trio tossed into rows of Korakuen seats, it was Yamanaka who got the spotlight with a lengthy dual against Seto. It was her eye-catching corkscrew frogsplash off the top rope which put away Seto to earn the title. Seto was seen with a bloodied mouth right after the finish. Upon watching the replay, it looked as though a forearm from Yamanaka might’ve caught her in the jaw during the finishing sequence.
The champs, who unveiled after the match that they will now be known as “La Vie en Rose,” won the titles by working their way through an eight-team bracket over the past month.

Mayu Iwatani put on a stellar 13-minute performance against Rin, a Marvelous and Pro Wrestling WAVE talent on her retirement tour. A pair of impressive Dragon Suplexes from Iwatani along with a few head kicks were enough to stop Rin, who Iwatani had previously met in a one-on-one 2021 bout.
While the bout was expected to be the final in-ring involving between Iwatani and Rin, the retiring talent asked afterward if they could team up before she steps away from wrestling. Iwatani called for a tag match on Marvelous’ May 5 card, which Rin accepted.
Comedy wrestler Megaton, who is currently on a 65-match losing streak, was challenged by Kuroshio Tokyo Japan to an upcoming singles bout on Monday. Following up on their trilogy from last month – when Kuroshio beat Megaton three times within 10 minutes – Kuroshio said he would put his Independent Junior Heavyweight Championship on the line when they meet again.
