Seth Rollins says he is inching closer to a return after tearing his rotator cuff last October.
The WWE talent joined ESPN’s First Take to promote Elimination Chamber and share the latest on his recovery:
No, I will not be able to do anything this weekend, but we’re getting close. Look, I can move it around (rotates the shoulder). It’s not in a sling anymore; it’s feeling good. It was in October that I got the surgery, so you look at the timeline, we’re getting close, we’re getting close. We aren’t all the way there, but we’re getting close, guys.
In a separate interview on ESPN’s Get Up, he was more specific and stated his intention to wrestle at WrestleMania in Las Vegas:
I wish I had a solid answer for you, but I’m going to have to plead the fifth on that one. I don’t know, at the end of the day, I don’t make the decisions. I want to be back by WrestleMania, but it’s not up to me. It’s up to the doctors. They have to tell me if I’m good to go.
Rollins suffered the injury attempting a coast-to-coasting diving headbutt to Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel Perth last October in Australia.
The injury forced Rollins to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship and was kicked out of The Vision before undergoing surgery.
Rollins was the first of the group’s members to be sidelined as Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed have both dealt with injuries over the past month.
