Yuji Nagata is the latest addition to Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport card over WrestleMania weekend.

The former IWGP heavyweight, Triple Crown & GHC champion will make his GCW debut on Friday, April 17, for a match to be announced. Nagata joins a lineup including Ulka Sasaki, Shayna Baszler, Timothy Thatcher, Pete Dunne, Erick Stevens, Fuminori Abe, Matt Mako, Miyu Yamashita, Masashi Takeda, Ray Jaz & Royce Isaacs.

Nagata and Josh Barnett served as the main event of New Japan’s Wrestling World card on January 4, 2003, at the Tokyo Dome. The match was Barnett’s first professional match and occurred shortly after being stripped of the UFC heavyweight title in 2002 due to a failed post-fight drug test after beating Randy Couture.

This will be Nagata’s first match in the U.S. since October 2024.
