Claudio Castagnoli will defend the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship against Hechicero on Friday, March 20.

The match will take place at the Homenaje a Dos Leyendas event at Arena Mexico.

CMLL made the encounter official after Hechicero confronted Castagnoli following a successful title defense on Friday night.

Castagnoli retained his championship against Ultimo Guerrero in Friday’s main event. He secured his sixth successful defense by striking Guerrero with a mule kick and executing a Neutralizer.

Hechicero entered the ring to issue his challenge immediately after the contest. Castagnoli accepted the proposal before a physical altercation erupted between the two competitors.

Their upcoming championship match continues an ongoing rivalry between the Don Callis Family and the Death Riders factions.

The promotion confirmed additional matches for the March 20 card. Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia challenge Mistico, Mascara Dorada, and Neon for the CMLL World Trios Championship. Furthermore, El Satanico will compete in a retirement three-way match against Blue Panther and Atlantis.
