Just moments after taking down the Young Bucks, FTR’s next opponents were found.

The team of Christian Cage and Adam Copeland returned on Sunday night, taking out FTR following the opening match of Sunday’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view in Los Angeles, California.

Copeland and Cage, who have been out of the ring for months, made it clear that they’re after FTR’s tag titles, hoisting the belts after taking down the heel duo in a post-match brawl.

The return came shortly after Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler survived a brutal and bloody near 20-minute battle against Matt & Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks, retaining the AEW World Tag Team Championships in the end.

The Bucks and FTR kicked out of all their big moves, at times borrowing each other’s famous finishers in an attempt at ending the contest. FTR finally found the room to end the match after sending Matt out of the ring with a Spike Piledriver, then pinning Nick following an Avalanche Shatter Machine.

Other highlights from earlier in the match included stereo suplexes off the ring apron and to the floor from the Bucks, and a kickout at one from Nick after taking a BTE Trigger from FTR.

The match had color early, as Nick started bleeding just three minutes into the contest. Harwood was quick to follow with a similar cut across the forehead only minutes later.

The Young Bucks and FTR are long-time rivals in AEW, with Sunday being the fourth time they have faced off in tag title action. Their last championship bout dates back to All In: London 2024, when the Bucks won in 13 minutes.

Cope and Cage took down FTR with an 18-minute match at last year’s All Out event in Toronto, Ontario. However, FTR prevailed in a post-match attack, writing off the veteran duo for the months that followed. It now looks like they’re after revenge.
