Pat McAfee’s follow-up appearance on Friday Night SmackDown saw a dip in viewership from the previous week’s reveal.
The April 10 episode of SmackDown averaged 1,412,000 viewers and 490,000 viewers (0.36) in the 18-49 demographic on the USA Network.
Heading into the show, McAfee promised a “big surprise,” which resulted in the news of a 25% off sale for tickets to the first night of WrestleMania.
The show fell six percent in overall viewership and was down 16% in the 18-49 demographic, and reached a two-week low for SmackDown. The previous week’s episode featuring the reveal of McAfee as Orton’s confidante led to SmackDown’s largest viewership since last September.
Friday’s show was still the top program on cable for the evening, and topped the night’s news coverage on Fox News and CNN. Broadcast was led by ABC with its coverage of the Artemis II mission, with over 12 million viewers and a 1.85 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The decline in the 18-49 demographic was all because of male viewership declining by 22% from last, while females were identical to the April 3 show.
SmackDown did 0.18 among adults 18-34 and a 0.51 with adults 25-54.
This Friday’s show airs from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, heading into WrestleMania Weekend.
