Shortly after AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view wrapped up in New York City, a press conference took place featuring Tony Khan, Thekla, and Will Ospreay.

If you would like to watch the broadcast, a replay of the full stream can be seen below:

Here’s a quick recap of what was said:

Just an hour removed from the end of Darby Allin’s title reign, Khan had tons of praise for the former champ. “He’s a very, very special person. He was fantastic as the TNT Champion, he was fantastic teaming with Sting, and he was fantastic as the World Champion. Everything Darby has done for us, he’s done his very, very best,” Khan said.

POST Wrestling’s John Kleinchester asked Khan what his plans were for MyAEW’s content selection, as the subscription service picked up QT Marshall’s 1 Fall Wrestling earlier this week. Khan said that MyAEW plans to feature “multiple promotions,” hoping to add more beyond 1Fw.

When asked about what he is doing to differentiate ROH from AEW, Khan emphasized that it has more development of women’s wrestling, providing room for “Pure” rules matches, and being able to format the show differently without the restraints of traditional TV’s commercial format.

A member of the media mentioned AEW wrestler Rebel’s recent diagnosis of terminal ALS. Khan sent out his thoughts to Rebel, and threw out the idea of hosting a Fight for the Fallen event to raise funds for ALS research.

Khan said he thinks this year’s Double or Nothing was AEW’s best yet. He also later mentioned that CMLL President Salvador Lutteroth was in attendance for tonight’s show.

While no specific update was provided on AEW’s second-ever Grand Slam: Mexico show, Khan briefly mentioned the event during the presser, saying they “will be back” with the show at Arena Mexico.

Khan expressed significant optimism about AEW’s future after the merger between Paramount-Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery.

When asked about the possibility of headlining Wembley Stadium as part of All In, Owen Hart Tournament entrant Will Ospreay talked about how the venue is where every English kid growing up wants to play in someday. “I can’t tell you how much it would mean to me to be in the main event,” he said.

What has Thekla learned since winning the AEW Women’s World Championships? She knew she was “good” before, she said, but now knows that she’s “the f****** best.” Thekla also mentioned that she likes it when people say she’s a modern-day Luna Vachon.
