Kyle Fletcher detailed his recovery process over the past two months, leading to his unannounced appearance at Double or Nothing.
The AEW star suffered several injuries in a March 28 match on Collision, teaming with Mark Davis against The Rascalz.
Fletcher suffered a torn meniscus, a fracture of the top part of his tibia, and a fracture of the ankle. He was told there was a 90% chance of requiring surgery on his meniscus. However, after meeting with a doctor in Jacksonville, he was informed he didn’t need surgery and could go through physical therapy to heal the injuries, and was confined to a walking boot.
In his video blog, he included footage of his first time training in the ring on May 15 after he was cleared by his physical therapy team for contact. The video ends with Fletcher disguising himself, traveling to Queens for Double or Nothing, and being wheeled into Louis Armstrong Stadium in a wheelchair and a tarp over top of him.
Fletcher appeared after Konosuke Takeshita’s Continental Championship win against Kazuchika Okada. Fletcher turned on Takeshita and laid out the new champion with a Brainbuster.
