Just after AEW’s first-ever Redemption pay-per-view came to a close on Sunday night, a post-show scrum aired live on the promotion’s Youtube channel. Along with comments from Tony Khan, this weekend’s scrum featured appearances from Willow Nightingale, Kyle Fletcher, Speedball Mike Bailey, and Maya World.

Here are some highlights from the scrum.
When asked about the move to start this weekend’s PPV at 7 p.m. ET, an hour earlier than AEW’s traditional North American PPV start time, Khan expressed pleasure in how the decision played out. “I made sure to get the show over before midnight Eastern,” he said.
Khan said that an AEW podcast network is “still in the works,” something that was originally teased when MyAEW launched earlier this year.
Khan was asked about any potential unique venues he was eyeing to run in Canada. He teased that he’s curious about running a sequel to AEW’s Fairway to Hell event, and asked: “What are the best golf courses in Montreal?”
AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale was asked about recent comments about feeling depressed. She said that being honest and public about her mental health is important, showing that even some of the most positive people go through tough times.
“It’s very important, especially being the happy, smiley girl, to be honest and say ‘That’s unrealistic to have that 24/7,'” she said. “Nobody is that all the time. I think it is good to strive for positivity, to try and allow ourselves some grace when things are tough, and say ‘We all mess up, we all don’t feel great, but what is something that can bring me even an iota of joy?’ Wrestling is that for me.”
Speedball Mike Bailey, who earned an AEW International Championship opportunity against Kyle Fletcher on Sunday, revealed that his mother watched him wrestle live for the first time in their career this weekend.
Bailey later cut a heated promo about how they’re the better wrestler between him and Fletcher. They explained that, during the Continental Classic, where no interference is allowed in matches, he won.
“When it came down to it, wrestling, in the ring, me versus Kyle Fletcher? I won. When we had the rematch, it was heading very much in that same direction. The one thing that was different? … The Don Callis Family wasn’t banned from ringside.”
Fletcher appeared at the presser and listened in on the end of Bailey’s comments. When Bailey tried for a handshake afterward, Fletcher declined: “I can’t shake your hand after sitting here and hearing what you said,” Fletcher said. “I’ll see you in Mexico.”
When asked who she might want to face at All In next month, newly-crowned TBS Champion Maya World eyed a potential rematch against the ROH Women’s World Champion: “I feel like my story with Athena isn’t done.”
When asked about her match against Mercedes Moné from last month, a turning point in her career, she credited the ex-TBS champ for the role she played in that match. “That’s just who she is, she elevates people,” World said about Moné.
