AEW has reportedly added a new name to its women’s division.
Janai Kai has inked a deal with AEW, per a recent report from Fightful Select. No details have been provided on what type of deal Kai is currently under, whether she has signed a full-time agreement or a per-appearance contract.
Kai has become a frequent name on ROH programming in recent months. The Washington, D.C. born talent has appeared on the brand’s weekly programming five times this year and worked their latest TV tapings on Tuesday.
Kai has performed on the American independent scene since 2018, when she made her in-ring debut.
She had a run in MLW for a couple of years, notably carrying their Women’s World Featherweight Championship for 455 days while with the company. She has been a frequent name in other brands like GCW and BEYOND Wrestling as well.
Kai has also made appearances for notably Japanese promotions TJPW and GLEAT.
