Liv Morgan escaped this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw still as the WWE Women’s World Champion, but just barely.
Morgan survived a title showdown against Becky Lynch on Monday night (albeit via disqualification), then evaded a possible cash-in attempt from 2026 Women’s Money in the Bank winner Tiffany Stratton as part of this week’s show from the Freshmart Center in Fresno, California.
Monday’s show was originally scheduled to have Lynch battle Stephanie Vaquer in a #1 contenders match for a shot at Morgan. But, after Vaquer was scrapped from the card due to not being cleared to compete, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce decided to fast-track Lynch to a title opportunity tonight.
Lynch had Morgan in trouble late, reversing an Oblivion attempt from the champ into a second Manhandle Slam. But as she went for a follow-up pin attempt, Judgment Day members Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez crashed the ring, causing the bout to come to a disqualification end.
While Morgan technically lost the match, she was able to retain her title due to the way the match had ended.
A post-match brawl broke out, with Rodriguez rival IYO SKY and Morgan’s Crown Jewel opponent, Chelsea Green, both hitting the ring for the save. After the babyfaces won the brawl, Morgan found herself laid out in the center of the ring.
This caused MITB holder Stratton to try and capitalize on the hurt champ. She scored with a Prettiest Moonsault Ever then looked to cash in her belt, but wasn’t able to get the match started before Dominik Mysterio appeared at ringside and retrieved Morgan, getting her out of harm’s way.
While Morgan left California still champ on Monday, danger lurks around the corner for her. Stratton seems focused on cashing in soon, and Lynch is likely in line for a rematch due to how her first encounter with Morgan went down.
