The Brawling Birds will no longer appear at Sunday’s Pro Wrestling EVE event following their Blood and Guts match at AEW.
Pro Wrestling EVE owner Dann Reed appeared on Fightful’s “In the Weeds” to announce that the Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor) vs. Hyperactive (Anita Vaughan and Safire Reed) match will be rescheduled for another date. Reed cited the Blood and Guts match to explain the rescheduling.
… Those matches do have a massive effect on you. We’ve spoken to the talent this morning, and basically, the decision’s been made. Considering Blood and Guts was last night and they got a big tag title defense at Full Gear a week from Saturday, the decision was to play it safe and to reschedule the Hyperactive-Brawling Birds match as soon as we can do it in the future.
It’s not a thing that’s forced on us or anything along those lines. It’s literally just a case of talking with a talent, what they’re comfortable with after what has happened and what they’ve got coming up.
The Brawling Birds and Hyperactive were set to face each other Sunday, which could have been for the EVE Team Titles depending on Hyperactive’s match against the champions, French Art (Cory Zero and JGU) on Friday. Reed noted it was a developing situation and could not provide a concrete date for when the Brawling Birds would appear on Pro Wrestling Eve.
The weekend Pro Wrestling EVE shows will still feature AEW talent, including some who wrestled in Blood and Guts. EVE Champion Kris Statlander will defend the title against Kay Lee Ray. Skye Blue is set to face Ray, Emersyn Jayne and Session Moth Martina in a four-way match on Friday and challenge Lucy Deathmatch for the Spirit of EVE Championship on Sunday. Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose are other AEW talent who are booked for EVE shows this weekend.
