The final edition of SmackDown Live on the USA Network culminated with the announcement that Kevin Owens will face Shane McMahon in a ladder match with the loser leaving the company.

The match was set up with Owens willing to drop his storyline lawsuit and leave WWE if he loses, but if he wins, then Shane McMahon leaves the company.

During the segment, they didn’t announce the date for the match but we have been told at POST Wrestling that the match is scheduled to take place on the October 4th when Friday Night SmackDown launches on Fox. The WWE has since confirmed that date for the match.

This is the third match announced for the premiere at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

They have also announced Kofi Kingston will defend the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar and a tag match has been added with Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks & Bayley.

Additionally, the WWE is advertising Bill Goldberg, Sting, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Booker T., Trish Stratus, Jerry Lawler, Mark Henry, and Mick Foley for the Fox premiere.
