There were several announcements made during New Japan’s New Beginning in Osaka card on Sunday including their return to Madison Square Garden in August.

The promotion confirmed they would return to the arena on Saturday, August 22nd with a show titled ‘Wrestle Dynasty’. This is the same night that NXT: TakeOver will be in Boston, Massachusetts over SummerSlam weekend.

New Japan ran Madison Square Garden in conjunction with Ring of Honor last April for the G1 Supercard over WrestleMania weekend with the show selling out in advance. The card saw Kazuchika Okada regain the IWGP heavyweight title defeating Jay White in the main event and Kota Ibushi defeating Tetsuya Naito for the Intercontinental title.

There was also the news that the G1 Climax will begin in 2020 with shows on September 19th and 20th in Osaka at Edion Arena. On September 27th, the G1 will go to Kobe World Hall and return to Edion Arena for another G1 show on October 10th. The final three nights take place from Sumo Hall from October 16th – 18th.

The last item they revealed was a return to Friday nights at 8 pm with ‘World Pro Wrestling Returns’ set to run on the satellite station BS Asahi.
