AEW received a moderate increase following its Revolution pay-per-view and topped 900,000 viewers for the first time since February 5th.
Wednesday’s viewership saw AEW Dynamite average 906,000 viewers on TNT that represents a 5% increase while NXT countered with 718,000 viewers that were virtually identical to their 717,000 the week prior.
In the 18-49 demo, AEW grew 17% with a 0.35 that led to Dynamite being fifth for the evening among cable programming. NXT was even from last week with a 0.23 and 20th among cable programs.
AEW won all the key demos with adults over 50 even as both shows did a 0.34. Last week, was the first time AEW neat NXT in the oldest demographic.
AEW gained among males 18-49 by 22.5% with adults 25-54 increasing 18%. They fell 5.5% with adults over 50 and women 18-49 dropped 5% while the other areas showed increases week-over-week.
For NXT, they had several demos showing notable surges. Females 12-34 jumped from 0.06 to 0.10 for a 66% increase, females 18-49 increased by 29%, and adults 18-34 saw an improvement of 23%. The two demos that dropped were males 18-49 by 12% and adults 25-54 falling by 7%.
Next week’s episode of NXT has a unique experiment with the show airing live from the WWE Performance Center with Keith Lee vs. Cameron Grimes for the North American championship and The Broserweights defending the NXT tag titles against Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish. Full Sail University is unavailable and therefore, they had to find an alternative venue. To me, next week would have a show to build up to and book a larger arena as the atmosphere is not comparable between AEW and NXT with the former playing to larger crowds that enhance their shows tremendously.
AEW counters with a show from Salt Lake City with Cody vs. Ortiz, Jurassic Express vs. MJF, The Butcher & The Blade, and the rules for the Blood & Guts match later this month.
