At the end of Friday’s edition of NJPW Strong, IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley appeared to confront KENTA.

Following the six-man tag main event, the lights went out and Moxley appeared inside the ring. After a face-to-face stare down, Moxley laid out KENTA with the Death Rider and left with the United States championship. Moxley said he doesn’t play the political games that would prevent the two from having a match and added that he’ll see KENTA in Tokyo “one of these days”.

Moxley has been United States Champion since January 4, 2020, but has not been back to Japan since the pandemic began with KENTA cutting promos on Moxley indicating the match will happen.

KENTA won the New Japan Cup USA tournament that ensures him a future shot at the United States championship.
