The National Wrestling Alliance is returning to pay-per-view on March 21st with a show titled ‘Back for the Attack’. The event will stream on FITE TV and it is going to be the first NWA-produced show since November of 2020 which was their Shockwave series.
NWA President Billy Corgan spoke to the Associated Press about the NWA’s return and he also shared that Powerrr is resuming on March 23rd. The show is going to be on the FITE platform via a subscription bundle. Tuesdays at 6:05 PM EST is the slotted time for the program. There has not been an episode of Powerrr since January of 2020.
FITE has also arranged to offer the ‘Back for the Attack’ PPV via its cable and satellite partners. Corgan told the A.P. that he feels the organization is finally taking the steps they were hoping to take a year ago. On the note of NWA pulling their videos from their YouTube channel, it was necessary as a part of the move to FITE.
“We were never in any financial peril,” Corgan said. “We were totally on a growth pattern. The plan for last year before things kind of hit the skids was to start pivoting. We were in discussions with Live Nation about running live events to help bring in revenue and expand who was watching the product. It was more about growing pains stuff, but we didn’t have any problems internally with the product.”
Corgan thanked AEW President Tony Khan for his role in helping keep the NWA name in the minds of fans with the NWA World Women’s Title being spotlighted on Dynamite.
NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis is expected to compete at the ‘Back for the Attack’ event and that show will be in honor of the late Joseph Hudson, also known as “Jocephus” and “The Question Mark” who passed away last week.
