Friday Night SmackDown featured the return of Jimmy Uso, who has been out of action for over a year, plus the announcement of a championship match next week.

Jimmy Uso was introduced in the opening segment reunited with brother Jey during an in-ring segment that involved Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman.

Jimmy has not wrestled since WrestleMania 36, which was taped in March 2020, and suffered a torn ACL during the Triple Threat Ladder Match at ‘Mania involving John Morrison and Kofi Kingston.

The last appearance Jimmy made was at the Hell in a Cell show last October where Jimmy pleaded for Reigns to stop attacking his brother during their “I Quit Match” for the Universal Championship. Reigns placed Jimmy into a guillotine and forced Jey to say, “I Quit” and award the match to Reigns.

It was announced that next week’s episode of SmackDown will see the WWE Women’s Tag Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax defend their titles against Natalya & Tamina.
