Ruby Soho discusses being involved in Eddie Kingston’s recent segments.
Following Eddie Kingston’s loss to Bryan Danielson in the AEW World Title Eliminator semifinal, he has been engaged in a feud with CM Punk. Punk and Kingston have come to blows or almost come to blows on the last several weeks of AEW programming including the 11/10 episode of Dynamite.
A constant in all of those segments has been Ruby Soho. She appeared on the Women’s Wrestling Talk podcast on FITE and said she and Eddie have been friends for years. She added that it is not the first time she’s had to hold him back from punching somebody in the face.
I mean he — I’ve known Eddie [Kingston] for a number of years. He’s been a good friend of mine for a long time and I will go ahead and be perfectly honest with you and say that-that is not the first time I have had to hold him back from punching somebody in the face and it probably won’t be the last. But, yeah, it was almost instant I think [holding Eddie back in the AEW TV segments]. You know, when Eddie gets to a certain point where he’s boiling over, it’s probably best to keep him in arm’s reach of people so anyways, I think it’s just instinct. He is super strong and when he’s angry, it’s kind of — instinct I think is the best way to put it. He’s just… oh Eddie. There’s nobody like him.

Elsewhere during the interview, Soho also spoke about the friendship she formed with former Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. The two remain in contact and Soho credited Rousey for bringing her to a new level of thinking when it comes to wrestling.
Oh yeah. She [Ronda Rousey] sent me pictures of the baby the other day and she’s absolutely beautiful. Already tougher than me. A child is already tougher than me just based off who her parents are. Yeah, Ronda and I keep in contact every once in a while. We just check in with each other. She’s an amazing person and she was so much fun to work with. Just her excitement and her passion was super infectious and you know, she brought me to a new level of thinking about wrestling, especially against her, somebody of her stature. She had me think about it in a different way which I always love to be able to be challenged like that especially when you’ve been doing it for while. Sometimes you kind of get into the same mindset but it was very cool to be challenged against somebody of her talent and her stature and her reputation so, it was great to be able to work with her but it’s so great to see her in the role I know she was meant for which is motherhood. She is guaranteed going to be the coolest mom and you know, God help any child who makes fun of her child because that’s just a dangerous thing to do.
Ruby is in the quarterfinals of the TBS Championship tournament and her next opponent is Kris Statlander. A date for their match has yet to be announced but the bout has been promoted via video packages on Dynamite and Rampage.
