Dream Slam Weekly (vol. 6)!

By: Karen Peterson

Moving into June, the summer temperatures are rising and it seems every promotion is gearing up for tournaments and super shows. My calendar is quickly filling up with shows to watch, which makes it so hard when there is such a spectacular variety out there! It feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day to watch wrestling, so if anyone can help me build a time machine, I would greatly appreciate it!

BIG EVENT/NEWS

CyberFight Festival (6/12) on WRESTLE UNIVERSE

On Sunday, June 12th, CyberFight (parent company to DDT, NOAH, TJPW & Ganbare ProWrestling) will have their annual cross-promotional show at the Saitama Super Arena. I will be doing a complete event report for this show, and learning about every single promotion as I watch along! The show starts at 2PM JT. With this being their largest show of the year, CFF held two press conferences, and both are available on WRESTLE UNIVERSE (May 10th | June 2nd).

Weekly Match Selection

With the build-up to CyberFight Festival, I started to think about where I’ve been able to experience TJPW talent here in the US, as when I went to Japan in December 2019-January 2020, I didn’t go to any CyberFight promotions, but I do remember the summer of 2019 when AEW collaborated with CEO Gaming to host FyterFest, the sequel of Kenny Omega’s wildly popular, CEO x NJPW the previous year at the same gaming convention.

With Yuka Sakazaki challenging Shoko Nakajima for the Princess of Princess Championship, I wanted to pick a match that really put her on international radars. Plus, it’s PRIDE month, and representation matters, so I wanted to highlight Nyla Rose as well.
