KUSHIDA’s first series of matches with NJPW announced for July

KUSHIDA will have his first matches back in New Japan Pro Wrestling next month.

After returning to the promotion at Tuesday’s New Japan Road card at Korakuen Hall, the six-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion will wrestle on Monday, July 3rd on the first of three straight nights at Korakuen Hall.

KUSHIDA will team with Hiroshi Tanahashi & Alex Zayne against Taiji Ishimori, KENTA & Gedo in KUSHIDA’s first match with New Japan since 2019. It also marks the return of KENTA, who has been inactive due to injury since January.

On July 4, KUSHIDA teams with Tanahashi against Ishimori & KENTA. On July 5, KUSHIDA teams with Tanahashi & Jado against Ishimori, KENTA & Gedo.

The star left New Japan and joined WWE, where he was assigned to the NXT brand. His contract expired earlier this year with the expectation that he would return to New Japan.

KUSHIDA, 39, last wrestled for New Japan in January 2019 where he lost to Tanahashi.
