AEW Rampage Grand Slam Notes: Hangman Earns World Title Shot, The Great Muta Appears

The Grand Slam edition of AEW Rampage saw Hangman Page earn an AEW title show, The Great Muta saved Sting, and Christian Cage returned.

Darby Allin & Sting defeated House of Black to open the show after The Great Muta appeared taking out Buddy Matthews with a dragon screw and the green mist to the face. Afterwards, Muta & Sting embraced in the middle of the ring.

Hook & Action Bronson defeated Menard & Parker with dual Redum submissions.

After Wardlow & Samoa Joe defeated Josh Woods & Tony Nese, Wardlow powerbombed Smart Mark Sterling three times to end the segment.

Jungle Boy Jack Perry defeated Rey Fenix. Afterwards Christian walked out and Luchasaurus jumped Jungle Boy from behind. Christian warned Jungle Boy to not come back next week. Luchasaurus finished Perry off with a chokeslam.

A backstage video from this past Wednesday was shown with the Jericho Appreciation Society celebrating the ROH World Title victory with A Little Bit of the Bubbly. Jericho announced they would be having a championship celebration this Wednesday in Philadelphia but Daniel Garcia was trying to interrupt to tell him something. Jericho said to save it for Wednesday.

Eddie Kingston defeated Sammy Guevara via submission. Kingston refused to let go of the hold so Senior Referee Paul Turner reversed the decision awarding the win to Guevara.

Jade Cargill defeated Diamante to retain her TBS Championship. After the match, Trina slapped Diamante seemingly aligning with The Baddies.

Before the Golden Ticket Battle Royale began, Paul Wight returned to the commentary booth. Hangman Adam Page outlasted Rush to win a title shot at the AEW Champion in Cincinnati, OH on October 18th.

Ricky Starks defeated Powerhouse Hobbs with the Roshambo in a Lights Out Match.
