GCW Tag Team Championship Match: Los Macizos (Champions) vs. Mane Event

Before Emil J could introduce Mane Event, Miedo Extremo took out one of them with a dive to the floor.  Ciclope isolated Midas in the ring which gave Meido another opportunity to dive onto J Lyon, who quickly got back into the ring. Still, Midas caught Miedo with an elbow followed by a double stunner. Midas climbed to the top rope and took out the champions on the floor; J Lyon climbed up onto the stage, Midas grabbed the hula hoop that they came to the ring with and Lyon jumped through the ring taking out Macizos once again. Ciclope was hit with a combination 619 into a Lionsault followed by a Frog Splash for a near fall. Both teams took each other out with flying cross bodies, Lyon fired up but Miedo got out of the way and hit him with a running knee, followed by a cannonball from Ciclope. Miedo planted Midas with a falcon arrow, he kicked out but had his back turned and was hit with a knee from Ciclope for the victory.

Los Macizos Retain the GCW Tag Team Champions

Singles Match: Matt Cardona vs. Jordan Oliver

Cardona grabbed the mic and was met with Shut the Fuck Up Champs, he called out a fan who had a sign that had his name spelled wrong. He continued to cut a promo on the crowd, he said he is thankful for being ranked number 13 in the PWI, and he thanked Brett Lauderdale because without him he wouldn’t have become the Deathmatch King and put “this fucking company on the map.” He put over Jordan Oliver, but he confused Jordan Oliver with Nick Wayne saying he was the youngest person ever signed to AEW. Emil J informs Matt that that’s Nick Wayne to which Matt Cardona says “then who the fuck is Jordan Oliver.” A very good bit. Jordan grabbed the mic and said “Matt Cardona, you talk too much, Matt Cardona shut the fuck up” crowd chants it. Oliver says that Matt Cardona is an asshole, and said he’s going to beat his ass. A good promo from Jordan who usually doesn’t do promos. Oliver immediately hit the Rough Ryder for a close near fall, Cardona went to the floor and tried to call a time-out.  Cardona begged off and told Oliver that we don’t have to fight and he extended his hand; they shook hands, Cardona went for a kick but Jordan caught it and unloaded on Cardona with strikes and a hip toss. Oliver landed a Randy Orton-type dropkick on Cardona’s face, Oliver had Cardona in a waist lock, but Cardona kicked him in the balls and took over the match. Cardona hit three neck breakers but Oliver kicked out at one, he started to work over the neck and choked Oliver. Cardona tore off his shirt like Hogan and started to choke Oliver with it, Cardona pushed the ref, the ref pushed him back and Oliver rolled him up for a close near fall. Cardona hit a leaping forearm strike followed by a Broski Boot but Oliver got out of the way and connected with a superkick and a flying side slam. They exchanged strikes in the center of the ring, Oliver took him off of his feet and hit him with a knee strike followed by an exploder suplex. Cardona again went for the Broski Boot but Oliver dumped him over the top rope, Cardona knocked over a fan on his way down, and Oliver sent Cardona back into the ring and he attempted a cloutcutter but Cardona made him lose his balance. Cardona hit three consecutive Broski Boots, Cardona went for the Rough Ryder but he caught him with a Batista Bomb for a very close fall. The crowd was firmly behind Jordan Oliver, Cardona hit Jordan in the balls and hit him with the Rough Ryder but Oliver kicked out. Cardona grabbed the Internet Championship and went to hit Oliver with it who ducked, kicked Cardona in the balls, and hit the Cloutcutter for the victory.

Jordan Oliver Defeated Matt Cardona

Jordan is always phenomenal but this match took him to a different level. Like his matchup a couple of years ago with Chris Dickenson, Cardona is so talented and a mensch for taking the pin.

Four-Way Match: Dlyn McKay vs. Leon Slater vs. Ninja Mack vs. Tony Deppen

This is Ninja Mack’s first match back from his tour of NOAH where he became a GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion, he lost the belt to fellow GCW wrestler, Dante Leon. The Wrld on GCW.

Ninja Mack and Slater took on Tony Deppen to begin with, and there were a couple of missed spots but Tony quickly took over the match with Mack and started to beat up Slater. This didn’t last long as Slater hit both of them with a handspring back elbow, Dlyn McKay entered the match and took out Slater with a standing moonsault, and Tony once again took over the match and started to work over Slater. McKay hit Tony with two head kicks and went for a swinging DDT  and Deppen ducked but he didn’t on the second attempt. McKay took out Deppen and Ninja Mack on the floor with a Fosbury Flop. Since starting with NOAH, NInja Mack has become a much more vocal wrestler and even smoother in the ring. Ninja Mack took all the competitors out with the Ninja Mack special but as Ninja was with the crowd, Slater hit him from behind and started to beat him up. Slater put Mack up on the stage and attempted a superplex, Ninja reversed it but was knocked off with a forearm, Slater got some distance and jumped off the stage in a dunking manner, which caused Nick Gage to namedrop Dominique Wilkins, which I guess makes Ninja Mack Spud Webb. Slater set McKay up in the corner and hit him with a Coast to Coast Dropkick from the corner across the ring. Slater can fly. Slater caught Deppen with a blue thunder powerbomb but Deppen was able to get his shoulder up, Mack and Slater battled on the ring apron, Mack butterflied his arms and was met with a head kick from Dlyn McKay. Deppen blocked a shooting star press from McKay, and all four competitors traded fists in the center of the ring. Mack and McKay exchanged kicks to the head, McKay hit a Poisonrana, shoutout to the BDE, and climbed to the top but was blocked by Deppen who took him back into the ring with a superplex. Mack went for the Phoenix Splash but Deppen moved out of the way and pinned Mack.

Tony Deppen Defeated Leon Slater, Dlyn McKay, and Ninja Mack

Tony Deppen called out Nick Gage and challenged him to a match on December 16, in Los Angeles

6-Man Tag Team Match: Mance Warner, Matthew Justice, and EFFY vs. Cole Radrick, Sawyer Wreck, and Dark Shiek

All 6 wrestlers started to battle right away, Cole had Shiek isolated in the ring as Sawyer started to bring Justice to the stage, Shiek and Radrick took out SGC with dives, and Sawyer Wreck climbed to the top rope and hit one of her own. I’ve never seen her go to the top before so that was fun. They all brawled on the floor, ramming each other into various things around the nightclub; Warner Sabu’d a chair at Sawyer’s head and back. Warner set up a door bridge in the center of the ring while Matthew Justice set up a barbed wire door bridge on the floor; Sawyer reversed the chokeslam attempt from Justice and Warner and planted both of them through the door, EFFY and Justice took out Radrick and Wreck while Shiek and Warner did battle. Justice looked like he was going to Sabu a chair at Shiek but she ended up kicking it in his face. EFFY slapped Sawyer across the face which allowed Cole to hit a cutter followed by a chokeslam from Wreck. Warner brought in a mini ladder and did the Terry Funk spinning spot. Warner climbed up the two steps and hit an elbow into Cole Radrick. Whoever they have on commentary with Dave Prazak, needs to not try as hard to force lines and moments. It’s grating. Shiek speared Warner through a door while EFFY and Sawyer traded fists in the center of the ring, EFFY went for a suplex but placed her on the top rope, Sawyer hit EFFY with a top rope chokeslam but as she was going for the pin Matthew Justice came off the top with a broken piece of the door and landed on Sawyer. Justice brought her to the apron where he hit her with a Death Valley Driver through the barbed wire door. EFFY speared Radrick, but he ended up stealing the pin from EFFY to win the match.

Cole Radrick, Sawyer Wreck, and Dark Shiek Defeated the Second Gear Crew

Cole called out Nick Gage ahead of their title fight on December 3, he put over Gage to which Gage said “Cole Radrick I don’t give a fuck what you say.” He went on to say that he’s going to beat the shit out of everyone he steps in the ring with.

Maki Itoh interrupted Nick Gage and stood face to face with The King, she grabbed the mic and yelled “Where’s my fucking Gang at” Gage taught her how to do it properly which sent the crowd into a frenzy. Emil J then did a Nick Gage intro for Maki Itoh. Maki grabbed the mic back from Emil and says “it’s MDK” and the crowd responded accordingly.

Singles Match: Masha Slamovich vs. Maki Itoh

Thankfully, Rhode Island native Veda Scott returned to commentary for this match. The two women started to exchange various holds and submissions in a physical feeling out process. Masha tried to fight out of Itoh’s, no-relation, wrist lock but she was routinely unsuccessful until she got her with a headlock takeover and locked in an arm wringer of her own. Itoh trapped Masha in a head scissors as they went to their corners to regroup. Maki extended her hand for a handshake but Maki flipped her off, Masha hit her with a forearm, which caused Maki to ‘cry’ and then stomp on Masha’s foot. Maki hit the ropes but was met with a big boot from Masha. Masha continued her offense by throwing Maki around the ring and hitting her with a couple of headbutts, Maki fired up and hit Masha with one of her own followed by her falling head drop. Maki hit Masha with 10 punches in the corner followed by a bulldog for a near fall. Masha went to the floor where Itoh hit her with a swinging DDT but it still wasn’t enough to put Masha away. Masha fired up with a flurry of strikes and a stiff clothesline that only scored a two-count. Maki rolled up Masha a couple of times but Masha kept kicking out, even a swinging DDT didn’t work. Itoh climbed to the top rope and went for a top rope headbutt but Masha moved out of the way and hit her with a running clothesline. Maki kicked out which caused the crowd to start banging on the apron. Maki flipped Masha off, Masha hit her with a head kick followed by a piledriver for the victory.

Masha Slamovich Defeated Maki Itoh

I have been critical of both of them in the past but this was by far the best match I’ve seen either one in since they started appearing in GCW.

Grudge Match: Allie Katch vs. Charles Mason

I know the company is high on Charles Mason but he doesn’t do anything for me. He’s just spooky MJF without the charisma or ring skill. His character has the energy of a subway flasher.

Allie Katch pulled a knife out of her boot and threatened Mason with it; Mason threw it out of the ring which led Katch to send him to the floor. Mason caught her with a DDT on the apron followed by a baseball slide that sent Katch crashing on the concrete. Mason dragged Katch around the ringside by her hair, while trying to be menacing. Back in the ring, he threw her against the ropes and kick her repeatedly, Mason moves slowly to denote that he’s a little off-kilter and different. Mason charged Katch but she took him down with her trademark hip attacks and cannonball; before she could hit the cannonball Mason hit her with a dropkick followed by a rolling DVD. Katch fired up and hit Mason with a couple of strikes, she placed him on the top rope, and Mason forced a kiss on her and then choked her from the top rope, he ran ‘wild’ for a little bit but Katch wouldn’t give up the fight. Mason “clubbed her” across the face with his forearms to a “meh” reaction from the crowd; Mason attempted a piledriver but Katch reversed it into a Dead Eye but unfortunately, he kicked out. They blocked a bunch of piledriver attempts, Mason spat something in her face, hit a piledriver then choked her out while looking like he climaxed. Hopefully, he goes back to whatever theater troupe he’s in and puts in some work.

Charles Mason Defeated Allie Katch

Mason grabbed handcuffs but EFFY made the save, Mason started to choke out EFFY while Katch looked on unable to help.

Mason grabbed the mic, said no one wants you Allie and other bad things, he went to hit EFFY with a chair but SGC made the save and ran Mason out of the building.

None of this was Katch’s fault, she had a bad dance partner tonight.

Singles Match: Nick Wayne vs. Alec Price

Alec Price got a massive ovation as he’s from just up the road in Boston. The two faced off as the crowd chanted for both of these talented young men. As expected, this match was an absolute sprint with both men showing off their fluidity and technical prowess. Wayne sent Price to the floor, Price slid back inside, Wayne went for a cutter but Price had it scouted and hit him with two consecutive backbreakers. Price took over the match and landed a big hesitation dropkick and some other offense but Wayne kept kicking out much to the frustration of the ‘hometown’ kid. Wayne and Price have the quickness of Affirmed and Alydar. Wayne climbed to the top but Price swept his leg and hit him with two sentons for a near fall. Wayne muscled out of an attempted figure four attempt but he didn’t capitalize as Price hit him with three running boots, Wayne ducked the third one and hit Price with a second rope Spanish fly. Both of these men are pretty evenly matched so no one had the advantage over the other for any significant amount of time. Wayne hit a beautiful Fisherman’s suplex followed by a brainbuster but Price kicked out again and went to the floor. Wayne took to the sky and wiped out Price with a tope con Hilo, Wayne rolled Price back in and tried to hit him with a cloutcutter but Price reversed it and hit a cutter of his own followed by a Gotch Style powerbomb and a reverse DVD onto the turnbuckle for a 2 count. Price locked in a variation of the sharpshooter, Wayne got to the ropes but Price dragged him back into the center of the ring. Price continued to target the back and taped-up shoulder of Nick Wayne, Price got distracted by someone in the crowd, Wayne ducked Price and hit a half-and-half followed by a snap dragon suplex. Price no sold the snapdragon and kicked Wayne a couple of times only to be hit with a running knee, snapdragon, into a Code Red. Wayne went for the cloutcutter but Price hit him with a back cracker out of mid-air, hit him with a kick to the back of Wayne’s head, and got the victory. A massive win for Alec Price.

Alec Price Defeated Nick Wayne

6 Man Scramble Match: Jimmy Lloyd vs. Manders vs. Chris Hamrick vs. Marcus Mathers vs. Shane Mercer vs. Dustin Waller

Chris Hamrick grabbed the mic and called a fan the other F word, Manders grabbed the mic from Hamrick before he got himself into more trouble. You can tell that everyone in the building and ring was pissed off and uncomfortable by Hamrick at this point. Hamrick is some backwoods hick from North Carolina and isn’t popular here. The fans chanted ‘Kick him out.’ Hamrick hit Manders but it didn’t do anything to Manders, Manders leveled Hamrick with an elbow, and Manders kicked him to the apron while the other professionals started the match. Mercer got Waller up in a military press, he threw him to Manders who hit a vicious powerslam. Hamrick tried to take the fight to Mathers and told people to move out of the way but the fans promptly told him to go fuck himself, rightfully so. Lloyd and Waller battled on the apron, Waller attempted a sliced bread but Lloyd got him and hit him with a piledriver on the apron. Mercer took out the bigot with a right hand taking him out of the match once again. Mercer grabbed Mathers and press slammed him over the top rope onto his opponents on the floor., Mercer hit a beautiful moonsault to the floor, and Manders hit Hamrick with a stiff clothesline and told him to suck it. Waller hit a poisonrana onto Lloyd but before he could do anything Mathers hit him with a powerbomb. Mathers went over to the “way past his prime if he ever had one” wrestler, and delivered a stiff stomp. Waller used Mathers as a projectile and hit Mercer with a leaping clothesline. Hamrick botched a simple spot and quickly rolled to the apron again. Mercer and Manders fought each other on the top rope with Manders hitting a powerslam but the pin was broken up by Mathers. Way too many people with similar last names in this match. Mercer hit a second rope moonsault and battery for the victory.

Shane Mercer wins the Scramble Match

Main Event: Mike Bailey vs. Jonathan Gresham

The match started with both men jockeying for position until the ref separated them and they started all over again. The two picked up the pace of the match with Gresham hitting head scissors followed by a dropkick to Bailey’s face. Bailey checked his teeth to make sure they were all still there as Gresham gloated to the crowd. The two fought over a wrist lock with Gresham planting Bailey on the mat with a slam. Gresham went back to work on the arm after Bailey kicked out of a near fall. Bailey moves like a Gallant Fox as he tussled with Gresham on the mat, Gresham was able to tie up Bailey’s arms and legs in a submission but Bailey was able to get to the ropes. Both men stood in the center of the ring and unloaded on each other, Gresham targeting the arm and Bailey targeting the jaw. Bailey sent Gresham to the floor with a dropkick, Gresham hopped up on the apron before Bailey could dive and fought over suplexing each other, Bailey grabbed Gresham’s head and kicked him a couple of times, climbed to the top rope, and hit Gresham across the back with double knees. Bailey took over the match with a bunch of powerslams and kicks; Bailey continued his offense with a couple of stiff knee shots. The crowd was tired by this point of the night. Bailey went for a neck breaker but Gresham turned it into a brainbuster, Gresham started to tie up Bailey into various submissions. They traded waist locks with Gresham getting the advantage every time which lead to a crossface. Bailey escaped and hit Gresham with an axe kick followed by a standing corkscrew for a near fall. Bailey attempted the Flamingo Driver, Gresham grabbed a waist lock but Bailey ran him into the corner. Both wrestlers were down after Bailey connected with a head kick after Gresham snapped Bailey’s elbow. They traded kicks and chops in the center of the ring, Bailey not backing down and repeatedly saying I’ll Have Another. Gresham went for a suplex but Bailey landed on his feet and kicked Gresham in the face. Gresham no sold it and hit Bailey with a lariat to the back of his head. Bailey kicked out at one, connected with a kick, and Gresham hit him with a suplex. They got the crowd back. Gresham took Bailey out with a moonsault Press, Gresham went to the floor and Bailey hit a triangle moonsault. Gresham hit Bailey with a low blow, and Gresham hit Bailey with a forearm to the back of his head but was still unable to get the pin. Gresham locked in a crossface, Bailey got out of it, hit the tornado spin kick followed by the Flamingo Driver for the victory. A tremendous match.

The finish of this match was an absolute sprint, these two never disappoint.
