Bron Breakker addressed the transphobic comments made by his father towards performer Gisele Shaw at this past year’s WrestleCon.

While speaking with Phil Strum from Under the Ring, Breakker (Bronson Rechsteiner) was asked about the comments his father was accused of making by Shaw and stated:

“Yeah, you know, I appreciate the question. I can’t speak for my father, but that’s not a reflection of me and who I am and what I’m about.”

Shaw, who identifies as transgender, issued a statement on April 1 detailing the alleged actions by Rick Steiner, who was appearing at WrestleCon and began calling Shaw names including yelling, “You’re a man”, “you’re a dude”, “you are filth”, and “get the f—k away from here.”

WrestleCon issued a statement apologizing to Shaw and stating that the issue had been addressed and reported by PWinsider.com that Steiner was not allowed to return to the convention that weekend.

Strum’s full interview with Breakker will be released this Monday.
