More information has come out regarding Matt Riddle’s issue at JFK International Airport on Sunday.

Riddle was contacted by The Don Tony Show with its host Anthony DeBlasi sharing Riddle’s perspective on the matter.

On the podcast, it was said that Riddle was taken off Raw due to a medical illness for an inner ear infection as well as dealing with bronchitis and was not removed due to the incident at JFK International Airport this past weekend. DeBlasi said the ear infection had been bothering Riddle on the trip to India and got worse over the past week and requires two to six weeks to clear out.

Riddle’s side was that his flight had been delayed for hours and was battling jet lag, an ear infection, and had a rude attendant to deal with at the airport. The host stated Riddle may have had a drink at the airport during his delay, but no drugs were involved after being searched, according to the host.

DeBlasi detailed Riddle’s side of the story beginning at the 22:00 mark of his show on Monday night including details of the interaction with the airport security guard and inferred that Riddle was subjected to ridicule with his painted fingernails and long hair. DeBlasi said that if Riddle recovers, he will be back next week but will depend on his illness clearing up. The host said he was told by Riddle that he was free to share this information.

POST Wrestling has reached out to Matt Riddle and WWE and will update the story with any additional information from either party.
