Roderick Strong becomes AEW International Champion at Revolution, Kyle O’Reilly returns

O’Reilly reunites with Roderick Strong but does not accept the Undisputed Kingdom shirt.

The International Championship match at AEW Revolution saw Orange Cassidy defending against Roderick Strong. Going into the match, AEW/ROH ringside doctor Michael Sampson stressed that Cassidy was beat up.

Strong had control of majority of the match but there were moments when Cassidy steered the momentum. In the end, Strong was able to defeat Cassidy to end his reign as champion. Cassidy had been in possession of the title since October.

As Strong was celebrating in the ring with fellow Undisputed Kingdom members Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, coming up behind them was the returning Kyle O’Reilly. O’Reilly had a serious look on his face, but he and Strong went on to embrace. Strong ordered that Bennett give his Undisputed Kingdom shirt to O’Reilly, but O’Reilly turned that down and whispered something into Strong’s ear before walking away.

O’Reilly had been sidelined since the summer of 2022. He underwent neck surgery but there were complications stemming from that. He had to relearn basic hand activities. To read more, click here.
