Nemeth pitched for the match with H.B.K. to happen via a cash-in.

Nic Nemeth a.k.a. Dolph Ziggler’s time with the Money in the Bank briefcase resulted in him cashing in to become World Heavyweight Champion.

He shared that at the time, he did not think WWE wanted him to be World Champion so he pitched an alternative idea. While he was the focus of a Q&A at For the Love of Wrestling (via Monopoly Events), Nemeth said he pitched the idea to use the briefcase to get a match with Shawn Michaels. That revelation came about as he was thinking about who he would want to face from any time period in wrestling.

When I was originally the Money in the Bank holder, I pitched an idea that I could cash in, because I didn’t think they wanted me to be world champion, so, I said, ‘What if I cash in this opportunity for a match with Shawn Michaels?’ And I thought that would be kind of cool but now thinking about it, if I got to pick somebody (from any time period to face), I would say 1989 Ric Flair or 1992 Mr. Perfect.

Coming up for Nemeth in the month of April is a shot at the TNA World Championship when he clashes with Moose at the Rebellion pay-per-view.

He is also the reigning IWGP Global Champion and was set to defend against Hiroshi Tanahashi at NJPW Sakura Genesis. The match was postponed due to Tanahashi being injured.
