Doing the honors of inducting Patterson is Scott Spears.

Coming up on April 5th is the 2024 installment of WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony. As of this writing, Paul Heyman, Bull Nakano, Thunderbolt Patterson, The U.S. Express (Barry Windham & Mike Rotunda) and Muhammad Ali are being inducted.

On the Thunderbolt Patterson front, doing the honors of inducting him will be radio personality and award-winning journalist Scott Spears. The news was spread via The Marion Star, which is a newspaper in Marion, Ohio.

Patterson appeared in the Marion area in the 1960 and 70s. He joined Spears on his ‘Now With Scott Spears’ show and said the following about his upcoming induction:

Patterson: I feel good. It’s something that I dreamed about, and if it had not been for the Lord, it would not have happened.

He credited the likes of Gerald Brisco, Bruce Prichard and journalist Mike Mooneyham for keeping his alive. He added that without them, the induction would not be possible.

Thunderbolt asked Scott Spears to induct him and Spears touched on how much that means to him:

Spears: This is such an honor for me. (Having) been friends with Thunderbolt for many years, and there is no one more deserving of this honor than him. For him to ask me to induct him is one of the great honors I have ever received, and I don’t take that lightly. I have been a fan of pro wrestling over the years, and the WWE has been nothing but great during this process.

Scott Spears is an Associated Press award-winning journalist and has interviewed the likes of Maya Angelou, Betty White, Larry King, Phil Donahue and multiple political figures.
