Aminata became emotional while speaking about it.

Following Queen Aminata’s win over Anna Jay on the 2/16 AEW Rampage which was Aminata’s first win on AEW television, Tony Khan took to X to officially announce that she has been signed to the company.

A month removed from that, Aminata took to the AEW Unrestricted podcast to reflect on that moment. She got emotional when speaking about the period of time that she had to keep her being signed a secret until it was made public. She wanted to relay the news to her father.

I wanna say it would have been better if it was a live (show when my AEW signing was unveiled) but, I don’t have any control over that. But, at the same time, I’m proud because everything that I’ve sacrificed along the way to make it to where I’m at today. My goal honestly was to tell him (my father) when I get signed, hey dad, I got signed. Finally, I’m not gonna hide it. But, that didn’t happen so now I just have to keep it in my heart and just go about it I guess. Yeah. No more crying. I promised myself, no more crying.

Aminata continues to work independent dates in addition to her duties with AEW/ROH. Coming up at ROH Supercard of Honor, it’ll be herself and Billie Starkz competing to determine the first-ever ROH Women’s World Television Champion.

Aminata defeated J-Rod, Taya Valkyria and Red Velvet to make it to the tourney final.
