WWE’s Royal Rumble this weekend is on pace to be bigger than ever.

Indiana Sports Corp recently told Inside Indiana Business that they believe this weekend’s Rumble could attract as many as 65,000, surpassing the annual event’s long-standing attendance record and jam-packing the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

“We’re feeling really good, and the WWE is ecstatic about the ticket sales number and I am, too,” Indiana Sports Corp’s Patrick Talty told Inside Indiana Business this week.

WrestleTix reported Friday that over 60,000 tickets had already been distributed for the show, causing the venue to open up more sections that had previously not been on sale. The show still has room to sell some final seats amid WWE’s go-home events this week, starting this evening with Monday Night Raw.

Before this year, the largest turnout for a Royal Rumble card was a 1997 crowd of 60,447 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The second-largest was a 52,020 crowd in 2017.

The projected massive turnout is huge for the Indiana Sports Corp, who will kick off an eight-year partnership with the WWE when they host the Rumble this weekend. Indiana is later expected to host Wrestlemania and SummerSlam as part of the deal.
