WWE NXT notes: Stephanie Vaquer to defend both titles on 3/25, name revealed for new group, Chelsea retains US Title

The reigning NXT Women’s and North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer is going to be defending both of her titles on the 3/25 show. She’ll be defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Jaida Parker in the opening match and in the main event, her North American Title defense against Fallon Henley is taking place. She agreed to the second title defense against Henley after Henley called her out.

Je’Von Evans approached Trick Williams to express that he understands why Williams has taken a more aggressive approach as of late. Evans is coming off of being jumped at Roadblock by the new group that consists of Dion Lennox, Saquon Shugars, Cutler James & Osiris Griffin, now known as ‘Darkstate.’ Williams asked Evans if he thought they were friends just because they both have locs. He then said Evans will never be like him and he’ll never be NXT Champion. Heritage Cup Champion Lexis King entered the picture to antagonize Evans, but Evans punched him. King versus Evans for the Heritage Cup is set for 3/25.

In the main event of the program, Trick Williams bested Eddy Thorpe via T.K.O. in an Underground match. He ended Thorpe’s undefeated streak in the match type. Afterwards, Williams called out NXT Champion Oba Femi to the ring, but Darkstate also showed up. Hitting the ring to back Femi and Williams was Je’Von Evans, but Williams shoved him to the mat. A brawl ensued involving Williams, Femi and Evans as Darkstate watched from the stands.

Ricky Saints scored a win over Ridge Holland in his first televised match in NXT since signing with WWE.

In the show opener, Chelsea Green successfully defended the United States Women’s Championship against Sol Ruca.

The Family (Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo, Adriana Rizzo & Luca Crusifino) took on The Culling (Izzi Dame, Brooks Jensen & Niko Vance) in a six-person tag. The Family were distracted when live footage was shown of Darkstate attacking Tony D’Angelo backstage. The Culling capitalized and picked up the victory.
