Roman Reigns recently offered his thoughts on the ongoing civil lawsuit against former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, who has been accused of harrowing allegations of sexual assault and trafficking.
In comments offering sympathy toward the plaintiff in the case, former WWE staffer, Janel Grant, Reigns described allegations toward McMahon as “embarrassing” to hear about.
“She’s got to live with all these situations that happened and hopefully she’s in a place where she feels comfortable and she’s secure in her own place,” Reigns told Vanity Fair in January, for a piece which was published this week. “It’s embarrassing. That’s stuff you don’t want to hear about. You don’t want your family to hear about.”
Reigns also referred to the allegations as a “stain” on the company.
The lawsuit, filed by Grant in early 2024, also pursues civil action against WWE and John Laurinaitis. In the formal complaint, Grant alleged that she was trafficked and sexually assaulted while employed by WWE from 2019 to 2022, then was pressured into signing a nondisclosure agreement upon her exit from the company.
McMahon has denied the allegations brought forward against him.
