The shows are happening around the time of AEW/ROH events in the same city.

In 2023, Dean Rasmussen from the DVDVR website passed away. The news of his passing was shared on the DVDVR X account via Rasmussen’s wife.

In April 2024, ACTION Wrestling co-presented a tribute show for Rasmussen titled ‘DEAN.’ There are going to be two more tribute shows and this go around will be in conjunction with All Elite Wrestling.

AEW President Tony Khan joined Phil Schneider on Way of the Blade and Schneider broke the news about the joint show. The first of the collaborations is going to take place on May 24th, the day prior to AEW Double or Nothing in Glendale, Arizona. It’ll be an outdoors show and it is going to be free to attend. Thus far, 1 Called Manders, Tom Lawlor, Gringo Loco and Mad Dog Connelly are scheduled for it. AEW talents and match announcements are going to be unveiled at a later date.

Schneider shared that the third DEAN show is penciled in for September at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Khan chimed in and said they’re working on making that official and a date has not been locked in yet. ROH Death Before Dishonor has been moved to September 5th at the 2300 Arena. Khan stated that he does not know when exactly the third DEAN show is going to take place but it will happen sometime around Death Before Dishonor. He stated that it’ll air on the Ring of Honor YouTube channel.
