Mayu Iwatani is leaving Stardom.

During a press conference on Monday following her IWGP Women’s title loss, the 32-year-old stated she is leaving the company effective immediately and prompting speculation about where she will be going.

Iwatani has been with the promotion since it launched in 2011 as part of its first class of trainees. She has held every major championship, including the World of Stardom Championship twice, the Wonder of Stardom Championship twice, the Goddesses of Stardom Championship twice, and winning the 5 Star Grand Prix & Cinderella tournaments.

Iwatani dropped the IWGP Women’s title on Sunday to Syuri at All-Star Grand Queendom in front of more than 7,500 people at Yokohama Arena, ending Iwatani’s two-year reign as champion.
