‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor will take on Josh Woods at May’s AEW/Action Wrestling Dean Rasmussen tribute show.
The free-to-attend ‘DEAN~!!! 2’ show is scheduled to take place outside of the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on May 24.
AEW President Tony Khan announced the match on Friday via social media, noting that Lawlor and Woods were both collegiate wrestling champions, both attended the University of Central Florida, and had been friends and training partners for over a decade.
The tribute show is one of two that AEW is co-producing this year to honor the late Dean Rasmussen, one of the founders of the Death Valley Driver Video Review (DVDVR) website, who passed away in May 2023.
Another Rasmussen tribute show is scheduled for early September during AEW’s residency at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
The Lawlor vs. Woods match joins a 10-man Cibernetico match already announced for the May card. That match will feature Hologram, Gringo Loco and Dr. Cerebro.
