Dominik Mysterio retains WWE Intercontinental Title with help of El Grande Americano

Dominik Mysterio retained his men’s Intercontinental Title on Saturday at WWE Backlash.

He was aided in the win over Penta by Chad Gable, in his ‘El Grande Americano’ guise.

In the finish, Penta was distracted by Finn Balor as Americano emerged from nowhere to hit a headbutt. This allowed Mysterio to pick up the win after delivering the frog splash.

Mysterio won the title at WrestleMania Sunday on April 20th.

He then retained the title the next night on the Raw after WrestleMania, with the help of his Judgment Day comrades.
