Former TBS Champion Willow Nightingale has confirmed that she’s not leaving AEW anytime soon.
Last week, a Fightful Select report noted that Nightingale inked a new agreement with AEW, keeping her in the same promotion that she has frequented since 2022.
Nightingale backed up that report just recently, explaining to Sports Illustrated why she’s excited about her years to come with the promotion.
“That is true, yes,” Nightingale said when asked if she signed a new AEW contract. “I am happy where I am. I think there is so much left ahead for me to do at AEW, things that I want to accomplish. But also, I’m just really excited to be a part of something when it’s fresh and new and, like, you know, I think we’re past the years of finding our footing. But to have been a part of that and continue to water and watch it grow is just a privilege as well as a joy, you know? So I’m excited to continue, to take part in that.”
Nightingale has been an active member of the women’s division for years in AEW, working a total of 32 matches for the company last year.
She’s currently a part of the ongoing feud between a babyface faction and the Death Riders, which is expected to continue this weekend with an Anarchy In The Arena match at Double or Nothing.
Nightingale later commented on her ability to work elsewhere while with AEW: “I can be someone who’s featured on television regularly week in, week out, and I can still take a weekend off and hop on an international flight to Tokyo or Mexico City,” she said. You can read the full interview here.
