Kosei Fujita defeated YOH on Sunday to win the 2025 Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

At 22 years old, Fujita is now the youngest wrestler to achieve this feat.

The A Block winner secured victory over B Block winner YOH in the tournament final.

After a cautious opening, the contest evolved into a display of technical skill from both men, with YOH targeting Fujita’s heavily taped shoulder.

Despite sustained offense from YOH, Fujita persevered through multiple submission attempts and high-impact maneuvers.

In the final stretch of the 28-minute match, with both competitors fatigued, Fujita countered a Direct Drive attempt from YOH and eventually secured the pinfall victory with his signature Thrill Ride.

With the win at the Ota-City General Gymnasium, Fujita has earned an opportunity to challenge El Desperado for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.

However, in backstage comments, Fujita indicated he might prefer to wait until after Desperado’s scheduled match against Jun Kasai at Korakuen Hall on June 24th before taking his championship shot.

Fujita celebrated his historic win in the ring with his TMDK stablemates and later with fans in the crowd.
