“The Pride of Pro Wrestling” will have the role of grand marshal at the 2025 Dallas Pride Parade.

AEW’s Anthony Bowens has been selected as the honorary grand marshal for the Dallas Pride Parade on June 15, as announced Wednesday.

Bowens, who is best known for his championship run alongside Max Caster of The Acclaimed, is openly gay.

Bowens’ sexuality has been portrayed on AEW programming, long acknowledged as part of his on-screen character.

During an episode of Rampage two years ago, after QTV’s Harley Cameron attempted to court him with a rap performance, Bowens reminded the Aussie wrestler of his sexuality. The moment received a cheer from the fans in attendance, caused a “He’s gay” chant, and received some online virality.

Bowens has noted previously that he is proud of his ability to thrive in wrestling while being his genuine self.

“One thing I keep coming back to is that I’ve been able to get there [AEW] while staying true to myself,” Bowens wrote in The Players Tribune back in 2023. “I’ve been able to succeed in wrestling as a Black gay man while still being me.

Later that year, Bowens placed #5 on the Outsports Queer Wrestling Index 200.

He most recently appeared on last week’s episode of Collision, coming up short in a title eliminator bout against Kazuchika Okada.
