El Grande Americano shut down Berto’s attempt at earning a second title within a week on the latest episode of WWE Speed.

As he has notoriously done in numerous matchups, El Grande American used a loaded mask to walk away with a victory. After putting a metal plate in his mask, Americano knocked Berto out with a headbutt to win the bout via pinfall.
While most episodes of Speed are taped at Smackdown events, the latest title match was shot at the WWE Performance Center as part of a live taping for NXT earlier this week.
El Grande Americano became the fourth-ever Speed champ last month, putting an end to Dragon Lee’s 171-day reign. This week marked his first time successfully defending the belt.
Berto was given the title shot after winning a four-man tournament, defeating Noam Dar and Kit Wilson in recent weeks.
Berto was riding the momentum of earning the AAA World Tag Team Championships just last weekend alongside Los Garza teammate Angel at Triplemania Regia.
