The next challenger for Oba Femi will be determined on an upcoming episode of NXT.

After both starting their interest in a shot at the NXT Championship, Yoshiki Inamura and Jasper Troy have been paired up for a #1 contenders match on the July 1 episode of NXT. The winner will go on to face Femi at The Great American Bash, NXT’s July 12 Premium Live Event (PLE).

When reigning champ Femi asked who in the locker room wanted to face him next, it was Inamura who answered the call. He stated that he wants to win the title for the NXT fans, who have given him so much since he came to America a few months back.

But as Inamura left the ring, he was attacked by WWE LFG Season 1 winner Troy, who then faced off with Femi to confirm that he also wants a chance at the belt.

If Troy wins next week, it’ll line him up for a second crack at Femi, whom he came up short against earlier this month in an 11-minute TV matchup.

Inamura, a NOAH talent who has mainly wrestled tag bouts in NXT since November, will get his first-ever televised WWE singles title match if successful on next week’s episode.

A pair of other matchups have been confirmed for next week’s episode, which was taped on Tuesday evening.

Just a few weeks before he challenges TNA World Champion Trick Williams at Slammiversary, Joe Hendry will meet Wes Lee in singles action. Williams recently told Lee that if he is able to hurt Hendry, he’ll owe him a favor in the future.

It was also confirmed that following a hostile encounter between them backstage this week, Myles Borne and Lexis King will face off during next week’s episode.

Here’s a rundown of everything currently announced for next week:

  • Yoshiki Inamura vs. Jasper Troy (NXT Championship #1 Contenders Match)
  • Myles Borne vs. Lexis King
  • Joe Hendry vs. Wes Lee
