The Japanese star made his long-awaited return to AEW programming on Saturday’s Collision, confronting the Callis Family amid their claim that Kenny Omega won’t have any support when he faces Kazuchika Okada at All In: Texas.
Ibushi, one-half of the Golden Lovers, traded blows with Okada inside the ring on Collision, eventually sending the champ retreating with a kick to the chest.
Ibushi’s last appearance inside an AEW ring dates back to late 2023, when he was part of an eight-man street fight match.
He has infrequently worked around Japan in recent years, wrestling in promotions like NOAH, DDT, and GLEAT. Among his appearances was a notorious 33-minute bout against Naomichi Marufuji.
Now, just a few days before his long-time ally Omega steps into the ring to try and become the inaugural AEW Unified Champion, Ibushi will try to get by Beretta, who will notably be making his first singles appearance in over a year.
