Reports: Chad Gable injured, set for surgery in July

It looks like Chad Gable (and El Grande Americano) won’t be seen in the WWE ring for a while.

Reports from Bodyslam.net, PWInsider and Fightful Select have all stated that Gable has suffered an undisclosed injury that has put him out of action. PWInsider noted specifically that Gable is set to undergo surgery early next month for his injury.

Gable suffered a backstage beatdown on this week’s episode of Raw after provoking Penta. The Mexican talent didn’t take kindly to Gable mocking his loss on TV that week, causing him to score his arm-snapping “Sacrifice” move on Gable.

It’s likely that this segment was used as a way to write Gable out of the show amid his current injury struggles.

It currently remains unclear how long Gable might be out of action or what caused him to suffer this injury. The development calls into question what will happen with the current WWE Speed Championship reign under his alter ego, El Grande Americano.

Gable’s last in-ring appearance was a little over a week ago, when he beat Berto in a four-minute WWE Speed match.
