Joe Anoa’i a.k.a. Roman Reigns has been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of the popular Street Fighter game.

The Hollywood Reporter shared the details that Reigns is joining Jason Momoa, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Noah Centineo, Orville Peck, and Callina Liang in the cast.

Reigns is set to play the role of Akuma and has another project in development as he is linked to “The Pickup” film starring Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson.

Vanity Fair released an extensive feature on  Reigns earlier this year, where the performer revealed, “After I finish the contract that I’m in, we probably got another year or two max. Then it’s time to take on a less physical form of entertainment.”

The 40-year-old has seen a drastic reduction in matches over the last several years, going from 52 matches in 2022 to eleven in 2023, six in 2024, and has wrestled three times this year, according to Cagematch.

Reigns has not appeared on WWE programming since April.
