The 2025 New Japan Soul tour reached its end on Sunday at Korakuen Hall.

The most notable result on the card saw the final entrant in this summer’s G1 Climax tournament decided.

It was Taichi who claimed the final spot in the A Block of G1 Climax 35, winning a four-man gauntlet match.

The place in the tournament needed to be filled due to injury to Hirooki Goto. The gauntlet match to determine his replacement also featured Tomohiro Ishii, Satoshi Kojima, and Chase Owens.

The match began with Owens defeating Kojima. Taichi entered next and, despite interference from House of Torture’s SANADA, managed to pin Owens after Tomohiro Ishii emerged to even the odds. In the final stage, Taichi pinned his fellow IWGP Tag Team Champion Ishii after a Black Mephisto to secure his entry into the G1.

In the main event of Sunday’s show, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado retained his title against Kosei Fujita. Desperado focused his attack on Fujita’s leg throughout the match, ultimately forcing the challenger to submit to the Numero Dos.

The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships were also defended on the card, with House of Torture’s SHO and DOUKI retaining against Master Wato and YOH. The finish saw interference from Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Yujiro Takahashi, who were neutralized by Toru Yano, before SHO struck Wato with a metal sheet, allowing DOUKI to get the pinfall with a Suplex de la Luna.

Elsewhere on the card, Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Tiger Mask with a High Fly Flow. The match marked the 30th anniversary of the debut of the current Tiger Mask and was the final singles encounter between the two veterans ahead of Tanahashi’s planned retirement.

Earlier, following their victory over TMDK, Young Lion Daiki Nagai approached the trio of Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuji, and Hiromu Takahashi, asking to join their stable. Takagi shook his hand, and the others seemed on board also.
