Hulk Hogan’s widow, Sky Daily, is reportedly planning to file a medical malpractice lawsuit in connection with his death.

The potential legal action centers on a neck surgery the WWE Hall of Famer underwent in May, which Daily alleges contributed to his passing on July 24.

According to initial reports from the Daily Mail and later TMZ, the lawsuit would focus on the claim that Hogan’s phrenic nerve, which is essential for regulating breathing, was “compromised” during the operation. Daily told the Mail that the resulting shortness of breath could have played a role in his death.

Sources who have heard the 911 audio told TMZ that Daily informed the dispatcher her husband “just stopped breathing.” An occupational therapist at Hogan’s home on the day he died first brought the allegation of nerve damage to the attention of police.

While the official cause of death on the medical examiner’s certificate is listed as an “acute myocardial infarction,” Daily confirmed she had commissioned a private autopsy. She stated that Hogan’s body would be cremated soon, as her “medical investigation” was nearing its conclusion.

The Clearwater Police Department’s own probe into Hogan’s death is still ongoing.

No lawsuit has been officially filed. It is not yet known which doctors or medical facilities would be named in any potential legal action.
