Four title matchups have been confirmed for NXT’s next Premium Live Event (PLE).
Ricky Saints will put his NXT Championship on the line for the first time when he faces Trick Williams at Halloween Havoc on October 25, as confirmed on Tuesday’s episode. The matchup will likely serve as the main event of a card from the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona later this month.
Incensed by how Williams abandoned him during an NXT vs. TNA match earlier this month, Saints laid out the challenge to face him for the title at the PLE later this month. Williams accepted, and to send a message, did a blindside attack on Saints during Tuesday’s episode.
Saints and Williams will meet for a contract signing on next week’s NXT, just days before their title matchup.
In the top women’s match on the card, Jacy Jayne will look to extend her lengthy reign as NXT Women’s Champion when she faces The Culling’s Tatum Paxley.
Paxley earned a shot against Jayne by winning a 20-woman battle royal on Tuesday, eliminating Culling teammate Izzi Dame in the process. It will be intriguing to see whether Dame will play a part in the match, as she wanted to be the one to challenge Jayne and was visibly bothered when Paxley won on Tuesday’s episode.
Jayne has held NXT’s top women’s title since May, when she dethroned Stephanie Vaquer on TV. She has defended the title four times since then, defeating Jordynne Grace, Lola Vice, and Masha Slamovich along the way.
It was also confirmed Tuesday that NXT North American Champion Ethan Page will take on AAA’s El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. at Halloween Havoc. The Mexican star has targeted Page in recent weeks and called for a shot at his title on Tuesday’s episode of NXT.
Dr. Wagner Jr. said that the match will take place under “Day of the Dead” rules, noting that it will be “Anything goes” when they meet later this month.
In a rematch, The Hardy Boys will put their NXT Tag Team Championship up against DarkState. Matt and Jeff earned the belts in a title-versus-title bout earlier this month, putting their TNA belts at stake while facing the heel NXT faction.
